Facial fillers can help combat aging by filling in volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are a gel like material that are available to help with visible signs of aging. Various products are available to help with filling volume, smoothing out lines around the nasolabial folds, diminish vertical lip lines, contour facial features, smooth tear troughs, plumping lips, as well as helping to restore and maintain a beautiful look.
Results typically can last 9-18 months depending on the product used and may be repeated thereafter for continued facial rejuvenation or cosmetic improvements. How often should filler treatments be performed?
Injections with fillers can be performed with multiple syringes until you have achieved the desired appearance. Typically most fillers will last 9-18 months. We recommend having a cosmetic consultation in our office every 6-9 months to determine if you would benefit from additional treatments. Generally speaking, the denser the product the longer it will maintain the results.
What areas can be treated with fillers?
Traditionally, the most common areas that are treated are nasolabial folds, lips, cheeks (for volume restoration), tear troughs, as well as the hands.
What is filler made of?
There are multiple varieties of fillers that we choose from to meet your specific needs. Each has its own indications and benefits for our patients. The most common available include hyaluronic acid fillers including the FDA approved ones such as Juvederm® line of products, Restylane®, Restylane Lyft®, Restylane Refyne®, Restylane Defyne®, Restylane Silk®, and Belotero®. Others include products such as Radiesse® which is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite, as well as Sculptra® which is Poly-L-Lactic Acid. Autologous fat grafting is also an option and uses your own fat by harvesting it through liposuction.
What is a rewards program?
Each manufacturer of the filler products offers a rewards program which helps you accrue points and dollar rewards towards future purchases. We would be happy to accept these rewards points and credit it towards a procedure or service when you get a treatment done in our office. Just join online and let us know during your visit so we can apply your rewards to your account.
All customers can sign up for Galderma rewards at Aspirerewards.com. This will save you money after any Restylane® line of fillers or Dysport® treatment. We also have our own rewards program for patients choosing a yearly subscription for injectables. Ask about this during your visit. Refer a friend for great promotions!
What is Sculptra?
Sculptra® is an amazing facial filler in that it uses Poly-L-Lactic Acid which is a biodegradable synthetic material which can stimulate collagen production. It helps to smooth lines and provide volume by allowing your skin to restore and rebuild lost collagen and facial volume. The effects of this can be longer lasting.
What is fat grafting to the face?
Fat grafting allows us to harvest fat from targeted areas of your body most commonly the lower abdomen or flanks and reinject it into areas of the face which would benefit from further volume restoration. While some of the product can be reabsorbed by your body, the fat that remains after the normal healing process is completed provides long term benefits. Many of our patients choose this individually or combine it with a facelift.
Why choose a Plastic Surgeon?
A Board Certified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon has completed rigorous training and understands the comprehensive anatomy involved in facial aesthetics. Complications of filler injections can be serious and it's important to be in trusted hands.
During your consultation, the doctor will provide a facial analysis and suggest areas that may be improved with filler techniques. A Plastic Surgeon holds the highest level of education and training for cosmetic improvements of the face and body.
Is filler injection painful?
You will be walked through the process with a thorough consultation. Gentle numbing cream or injections may be used to make you as comfortable as possible.
